A Cowboy Wedding
Who gives this gal to be hitched to this cowboy?
We are gathered here today in the presence of friends and family and the big Trail Boss in the sky, to witness a wedding between ______________ and _______________. While they have been riding life’s trail alone, they are now committed to hitching their horses to the same wagon.
_____________(groom), have you come here today of your own accord, without the undo persuasions of other persons? And have you come here ready to give up your wicked ways and ride the straight and narrow?
______________(bride), are you sure that you are here of your own free will and ready to be hitched to this cowboy?
Well it sure sounds like you’all are bound and determined to get hitched.
Will the ma’s and pa’s of ______________ and _______________ please stand.
Are you all aware of what’s going on here, and are you ready to give up yer youg’uns to each other?
Will you give them yer blessings?
This is a good time for a prayer.
To the Big Trail Boss in the sky, we ask that you look down favorably on this couple as they start a new life together. We ask that you provide good weather for them as they traverse the prairies of life. And when you find it necessary to make it rain, lead them to shelter. May the trail always be clear and smooth. May the valleys never be too deep or the mountain too high.
We ask these things in the name of your son, Amen.
__________________ and ___________________ you are about to make promises to each other that today may not seem necessary to say. But take the words to heart and give them with utmost sincerity. These promises are to be made in love and received with joy.
__________________(groom), look into _______________,s eyes and repeat after me:
I, __________________,
Take you _________________,
To be my one and only,
From this moment,
Till that last sunset.
I promise to you,
To be faithful and true,
In feast or in famine,
In good times or in bad
In sickness and in health
Until we take
That last ride
To that great ranch
In the sky.

I would like to give you now the benediction of the Apaches:
Now you will feel no rain, for each of you will be shelter to the other. Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth to the other. Now there is no more loneliness for you, but there is only one life before you. Go now to your dwelling place, to enter into the days of your togetherness, and may your days be good, and long upon, the earth.
By the power given to me by the Big Trail Boss in the sky and the state of __________________, I now say: You are legally hitched. Happy trails to you.
It is now safe to smooch.
Everone stand and greet ___________ and __________ , husband and wife.
